Well it should be pointed out that nearly all forex trading robots will have compelling sales pages, and impressive looking performance records, but you have to be careful about building your hopes up too much about any particular program. A lot of them give back-tested data which although may seem impressive, also means that in some cases they may not actually have traded their robot with real money.

That’s not to say all of these trading robot programs are a scam, however. Some of these robots have indicated that they are profitable when back-tested over several years, but also turn out to be profitable when used now trading a live account.

The unfortunate thing is that in a lot of cases the only way of finding out if a particular trading robot is profitable, and can therefore make money for you when left to run on autopilot, is to actually buy the system and try it out for yourself.

There are many forex trading robots on the market nowadays. Some are a complete waste of time while others are very profitable. If you do a bit of searching online and buy a few systems you will quickly discover which programs are worth continuing with, and which ones should be refunded.

You have very little to lose by trying out different systems because you can always ask for a refund within a set time which gives you plenty of time to try out different systems using a demo account to see how profitable they are.

Don’t expect vast profits from forex trading robots. The ones that claim they’re super profitable and promise you that you will become rich beyond your wildest dreams are generally the ones worth avoiding. The best automated trading robots will steadily increase your bankroll over the long run, helping you to make slow and steady profits.

Always look for those trading programs that generally make more winning calls than losing ones based on past performance, and that adopt a solid stop loss strategy to minimise any losses. These systems are usually good candidates for making long-term profits.

Forex trading is not a get rich quick scheme. You can of course make a lot of money, but the key is to use sound money management rules and use a solid trading strategy, which is where forex trading robots come in. The best trading robots will trade automatically for you using tried and tested strategies devised by the owner of the robot, and can often make very nice profits for you in the long run.

Then what has happened recently? All these assets have become highly correlated. Real estate is in the tank, stocks are not exactly holding there own and many bond holders are learning firsthand what the word default means. Your diversified portfolio is not so diversified anymore.

Managed futures are generally considered to be investments in a commodity trading advisor (CTA). A CTA is a person or entity registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and a member of the National Futures Association (NFA). A CTA will invest in the futures and options markets in the account holder’s name. A CTA is not allowed to accept trading funds in his own name or his company’s name. All traded funds must be in the investor’s name.

Historically managed futures products have shown little correlation to traditional equity investments. Little correlation is good in markets such as the ones we are experiencing now. I imagine many investors are looking at losses anywhere from -10% to -30% on their portfolio of stocks while the Barclay CTA Index is up 7.27% this year through the end of July.

Last time I checked, the Barclay CTA Index is not an index, which an investor can allocate money to, however, it gives you an idea of how the overall managed futures industry is doing this year compared to the stock market. What if your portfolio was 100% stocks? Based on the S&P 500 Index you would be down about -13.70% for the year through the end of July. Now if your portfolio was 50% stocks and 50% bonds yielding 5% then you would be down around -5.39% over the same period. If your portfolio consisted of 40% stocks, 40% bonds yielding 5% and 20% managed futures (based on the Barclay CTA Index) your portfolio would only be down, roughly, -2.86% through July. This represents a very acceptable level of volatility, in my opinion.

We can see that diversification is much more than it used to be. The options available to investors are growing and changing at a rapid pace. Managed futures may not be for everyone as they are generally considered to be significantly more risky, but if you are a high net worth individual or a person who has a greater risk tolerance an investment in a managed futures product or a portfolio of managed futures products may be worth looking into.

One thing all investors should be aware of is the risk associated with trading commodities. There is risk of loss and your own financial condition should be taken into consideration prior to investing with any CTA. Also, most important, past performance is not indicative of future returns. Investors should examine a manager’s disclosure document carefully before making any investment decisions.

Do you want to invest for your retirement? If so, you may want to invest with before tax money in a self-directed IRA. If current income is your goal for your investment portfolio than you will want to use after tax money to invest and you may want to invest through a corporation or LLC so that you can pay any expenses related to your investing out of that income before you’re taxed on it.

Keep in mind that income from tax liens and tax deeds may be treated differently. Interest income from tax lien certificates is reported as interest income on a 1099 form. Income that you receive from the sale of tax deed properties would be treated as capital gains if you hold the property for at least a year before you sell it.

Are you building a tax lien portfolio because you want to obtain properties for back taxes? If so, you are better of with tax deeds or redeemable tax deeds. The chances of actually foreclosing on a tax lien property and getting the property are pretty slim. In some states if your tax lien does not get redeemed within the redemption period, the property will have to go to a deed sale and the property will go to the highest bidder. Then you will be paid on your lien along with any interest and penalties.

Trade During Busy Hours

This is no great secret in the currency exchange world.Currency exchange is the purest form of supply and demand that there is today.That means that in the offpeak times a big investor - for instance a multinational bank - can use their buying power to heavily effect the way prices are going.They can still drop down lump sums in peak trading times, but the effect is diluted by the pure volume of what everybody else is doing.This means that the signals and trends you observe during peak trading hours are going to be far more ‘real’ than those in the downtime.

What Is A ‘Triangle’?

Triangle patterns are relative easy to identify on the trading charts. It is formed by price action that is bound within two converging trend lines. The resistance line should be sloping downwards while the support line should be sloping upwards. The market price should be ‘bouncing’ between these two trend lines, alternatively hitting the top and bottom of the ‘triangle’. A minimum of four ‘bounces’ should be observed before this triangle formation can be considered a reliable pattern to trade with.

Triangles are most effective when observed during active trading hours with high liquidity.

What Is The Significance Of A Triangle?

The triangle candlestick formation indicates intense competition between the buyers and sellers. It shows that they are aggressively fighting each other, with the winning side to be declared once the other side loses its buying/selling pressure.

It may help to liken this concept to the compression of a metal spring. Imagine yourself compressing a metal spring: as the spring comes under increasing pressure, it becomes harder and harder to press it together. Once you let go of one side of the spring, it will jump out in the direction of the release.

This is similar to how the triangle formation pattern works in the Forex market. As prices fluctuate (or ‘bounce’) less and less wildly, it shows the increase of pressure buildup in the market. When either buyers or sellers give way, prices are likely to shoot strongly in favour of the other (i.e. stronger) side.

How To Trade With Triangles?

Most traders will wait until there is a breach of either the upper or lower trend line before entering into a trade. Because no one will know in advance which side (i.e. buyers or sellers) is stronger, many people prefer to let the price action show them.

The moment prices close above the resistance line, they buy. If prices close below the support line, they sell.

Let’s take technical analysis as an example of this. When many people begin to learn about the principles of technical analysis (which is basically reading charts of price data to determine market entry or exit points), they will often say something along the lines of “But I don’t understand… *Why* does it work?” If you focus to much on the aspect of why the principles of technical analysis are effective for trading, you will get sucked into a line of logic that does not yield any profits.

Topics such as ‘Why Technical Analysis Yields Accurate Trading Signals” can be very complex and are often the topic of research papers and Ph.D theses. Try not to get caught up in this mode of thinking, only focus on the fact the basic economic and technical principles that most new forex traders are taught DO work without philosophizing about why they work. Save that stuff for the stuck up University professors, while you devote most of your own conscious energy towards practical applications for making money from the forex market.

Basic economic principles are really the driving force behind movements in the currency market (such as the way that interest rates affect the value of a given currency), and basic technical analysis principles such as support and resistance levels serve to offer reliable entry and exit indicators that many traders follow.

Venturing into the realm of forex trading may seem a bit daunting but it can also be extremely rewarding, and it is best to focus on the proven trading strategies that consistently make profits and not get caught up on why these strategies work. Just as long as they make money, that should be enough to keep you (and your bank account) happy.
